Due to its influence on society, the audiovisual industry has a unique opportunity to set trends and motivate positive change, which is absolutely crucial in an era of climate crisis. As one of the first promoters of sustainability in the Czech Republic, the Audiovisual Producers' Association (APA) fully embraces this responsibility and moves its activities into the phase of practical implementation.
As an active member of the Czech Sustainability Platform (PUAV)—to which we handed over the management of our original project, Greenfilming.cz, in mid-year to centralize information—we collaborate intensively with all key stakeholders in the field. Our main priority remains the direct support and motivation of APA members in putting the Principles of Sustainable Filming into practice. We ensure that new standards are functional and protect producers from unfeasible requirements, supported by our ongoing data collection from independent productions. We are pleased that sustainable filming in the Czech Republic is becoming a real and functional standard, proving that even a major shift in mindset within our industry is possible.
